Test cases optimization
Automation testing is very popular now, but manual testing still exists. When I interviewing people, they often told me that, they are manual testers. I like to ask, do they try to do it faster and how. I expected to hear something about test design techniques. But what else you can do to test fast, because the final result of testing is not just words “I’ve tested it”. Test cases are often the final results of testing. I would like to tell about test case optimization when they are needed and could you exclude them from your process or not.
How to assign a tester to the relevant team
When you work in the Quality Assurance department you should improve the process at each stage. Assigning the tester to a team is the first stage. The presentation will be about the stable testers’ team, where members have different types and levels of knowledge. I’ll speak about the decision you should make to choose the best person for a particular team. We will look into: team change reason patterns; risks that you can face; how to manage risk in each pattern. As the result: you will be able to analyse mentioned risks, add your own ideas and decide who will be the best person for the new team
How to integrate a new tester onto an existing team
The main purpose of my presentation is to share my experience of integration new testers onto a team.
It is important for us to make them feel comfortable about their work. Sooner or later, all test managers are faced with having new members become part of their team. A lot of questions appear: ‘Should they go straight into a new project?’ or ‘Should I give them boring regression tests?’ and ‘What should I do with them on their first day of work?’ What if these new members in your team are not in your company? First impressions are the most important. It is not fair to think that only the new person should make a good impression during probation; you should also do your best to motivate them and provide them with all the important things to make their careers successful in your company.
