On May, 19-21nd, 2009 in Minsk there will pass the Software Engineering Forum - SEF-2009 .
Software Engineering Forum-2009 is the unique Forum which will unite on one platform the popular IT resources RUNET and BYNET, and also professional IT communities of the CIS countries and Baltic.
The forum includes all spectrum of the basic issues of software creation, concretises application of programming languages, considers successful architectural decisions and the recommendations, concerning the most demanded technologies, products of known vendors, and also Open Source decisions.
It is planned to discuss following questions at the Forum:
1. questions of IT management in the company, IT investments efficiency estimation, software economics;
2. modern platforms of software development and programming languages (from proprietary systems to Open Source solutions);
3. questions of successful architectural solutions development and recommendations about their introduction;
4. a life cycle of software: from requirements development, designing and till programming, documentation and support;
5. utilization of well-known vendors’ software products as well as Open Source solutions;
6. teams and projects management;
7. software safety and protection;
8. protection of intellectual property of software authors;
9. the human factor (education, personnel development, etc.);
10. questions of standardization and different models of software development.
Conference speakers and section moderators: experts from the competent Belarusian and international companies (Microsoft, IBM, Sun, Adobe, HP, and a number of others); specially invited IT-gurus, related IT communities (Agile community of Belarus, Belarus dotNet User Group, Linux vacation East Europe (LVEE) Conference participants, etc.); IT consultants and consulting agencies, vendors, representatives of IT related University departments.

The Forum will be held with support from National bank of the Republic of Belarus, the High Technologies Park Administration, the Ministries of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Department of information of the Ministry of Communications and information of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of the Industry of the Republic of Belarus.
Besides generalisation of the saved up experience in sphere of software engineering and creation of a platform of cooperation for realisation of the joint international projects, one of the major purposes SEF-2009 is definition of those aspects of activity which make an essence of the expert profession which involved in software creation.
Basic difference SEF-2009 from other IT conferences is a practical orientation of reports and the interactive form of interaction with speakers. Through comfortable and "live" dialogue with the IT guru the primary goals of conference will be realised, namely: distribution experience and the best practices of software and an establishment of long-term and partner contacts between participants.
Within the limits of SEF-2009, except traditional plenary and section reports, round tables and a flip-chart presentation are planned. Working capacity of a method of flip-charts has been shown within the limits of SQA Days 2008 (video can be found on a site of conference IT-CONF.RU).
The Forum’s agenda will include plenary and section reports, “round tables”, master classes, flip-chart discussions and focus groups (small – 8-10 people – group focused discussions with IT experts on issues related to software engineering).
The Forum will also hold seminars of companies – manufacturers of hardware and software for computer telecommunications, and computer demonstrations of network information resources.
Software Engineering Forum-2009 will be interesting for:
